Whereas the City of Chicago has historically been dominated by the interests of the political machine and governed by officials raised to office through systems of patronage, nepotism, and cronyism; we demand that the 11th Ward be democratically governed by an inclusive coalition representing the diverse interests of the working class people of the community.

Whereas the political, economic, and cultural institutions of the 11th Ward have been and continue to be subordinated to the demands of establishment power, ignoring the working class people of the ward; we demand that these aforementioned institutions be accountable and responsive to the working class people of the community, and that development of our ward be for and by the working class people of the 11th Ward.

Whereas working class residents of the 11th ward face poverty, racism, violence, hunger, homelessness, and high cost of living when those in power and the political machine places the desires of the few over the needs of the many; We demand that the abundant resources of the 11th Ward be dedicated to combating inequality in all its forms, and that the institutions of the 11th Ward be dedicated to improving the material conditions of the residents of the Ward and the City.

Whereas our community has historically served as an industrial center for the City of Chicago without regard to the environmental impacts; we demand that the environmental impacts of current and historic industrial activity be studied, disclosed, and alleviated.
